Structure of a double-end grinding machine

Mar 11, 2026

The structure of a double-end face grinder mainly includes a bed, worktable, spindle system, wheel dressing device, hydraulic system, and electrical control system. The bed is the main structure of the grinder, typically made of cast iron or welded to ensure sufficient rigidity and stability. The worktable is used to mount the workpiece and moves linearly along the bed's guideways to feed the workpiece. The spindle system is the core of the grinder, including the spindle, bearings, pulleys, and other components, used to drive the grinding wheel to rotate at high speed. The wheel dressing device is used to periodically dress the grinding wheel to ensure its good grinding performance. The hydraulic system provides the power required for the grinding process, while the electrical control system coordinates the operation of all parts of the grinder.

The working process of a double-end face grinder mainly includes the following steps: First, the workpiece is mounted on the worktable, and then the worktable is driven by the hydraulic system to move linearly along the guide rail of the bed, so that the workpiece gradually approaches the grinding wheel; then, the spindle system is started to make the grinding wheel rotate at high speed; the feed speed and grinding depth of the grinding wheel are controlled by the electrical control system to achieve precise grinding of the workpiece.
