The CNC double disc grinding machine (Model SX150-9W) is suitable for high-precision grinding of both end surfaces of larger components such as diesel engine connecting rods, carbon ceramic plates, carbon ceramic brake discs, cylinder heads, valve blocks, and square cylinder heads. It employs reciprocating motion and plunge grinding. The machine mainly consists of a four-axis CNC system, an anti-collision system for the grinding wheel and fixture, an automatic lubrication system, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The four-axis CNC system works in coordination with mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, electrical control, alarm, and fault diagnosis subsystems. The key components of the machine are all from internationally renowned brands. An optional MARPOSS measurement system can be installed to achieve 100% full inspection. The grinding machine also features self-fault diagnosis and historical data query functions.

During operation, the machine completes coarse grinding, fine grinding, and polishing in one process, with automatic loading and unloading: grinding proceeds automatically when a workpiece is present and stops when none is detected. The grinding wheel can be dressed automatically, and the entire grinding process runs fully automatically. The grinding area is fully enclosed, and the discharge position uses a large flow of purified water for rinsing, leaving the workpiece surface clean and free of impurities. Each action position is monitored by sensors, allowing the machine to self-diagnose faults and issue alarms in a timely manner, which reduces the skill requirements for maintenance personnel.

For safety, the grinding wheel protective cover can be raised and lowered automatically, with interlock safety features between the cover and grinding head rotation, as well as between dressing and grinding. The dresser has an integrated structure with a single dressing arm that dresses both grinding wheels simultaneously, providing good stability and dressing accuracy. When using conventional grinding wheels, the dressing frequency can be preset. When the set values for grinding quantity, processing time, or dimensional stability are reached, the grinding wheel automatically retracts for dressing and performs automatic compensation. After dressing, it returns to the grinding position and automatically resumes feeding to continue grinding. Manual dressing is also possible.

The machine bed is heat-insulated, helping to reduce the impact of grinding heat on machine tool accuracy and improving stability and reliability. In addition, an optional water mist collection, purification, and separation system can be installed to collect and process mist generated during grinding, keeping the fixture and loading/unloading areas relatively dry and ensuring that the humidity of air discharged from the machine meets required standards.
