Automatic Double Disc Grinding Machine
The full automatic double disc grinding machine (Model SX150-12YL) is mainly used for the production line of engine connecting rods to meet the requirements of both diesel and gasoline engine connecting rod machining processes.
Fully automatic is reflected in:
① Each part of the double disc grinder is independently managed, including automatic calculation analysis, automatic loading and unloading, automatic grinding, automatic compensation, automatic trimming, automatic cleaning, automatic dredging, automatic lubrication, etc;
② The MARPOSS measurement system automatically achieves 100% full inspection, with waste products automatically isolated and finished products automatically entering the next process without manual intervention.
And this machine can serve for construction of an automatic production line of that connecting rod. After replacing the loading and unloading fixture, it is also suitable for processing other workpieces with high precision requirements such as bearings and gears, as well as production lines with high automation requirements.


In terms of processing capability, regardless of the thickness allowance of the connecting rod, the automatic double disc grinding machine can complete coarse and fine grinding at one time with automatic loading and unloading. The CNC system adopts closed-loop control with online automatic measurement function; measured data is fed back in real time for automatic compensation. If it is out of tolerance, the machine will respond according to the specific requirements of the connecting rod, triggering sound and light alarm and fault record. The machine also features historical data query, allowing users to retrieve all dimensional data from the past month for statistical and linear analysis, as well as recent equipment status and operation records. Also it has a coordinated analysis function for dimensional stability and grinding wheel compensation, which uses an innovative algorithm to determine the optimal dressing timing of the grinding wheel, maximizing the wheel utilization rate while ensuring processing quality.
Regarding safety and reliability, a waste collection box is located at the discharge position; out-of-tolerance workpieces are automatically collected, isolated, and recorded. If two consecutive defects occur, the machine automatically stops feeding and issues an audible and visual alarm. The loading and unloading sides are each equipped with a 2-meter dedicated stepping conveyor for connecting rods (the unloading conveyor can be extended as needed), automatically transferring qualified parts to the next process. The processing area is fully enclosed, and the protective door has an electric interlock-forcing the door open stops the machine. At discharge, a large flow of purified water rinses the workpiece, ensuring a clean surface free of iron filings. The grinding wheel and fixture feature anti-collision protection. When the wheel wears down to the limit size, both mechanical and electrical alarms are triggered, and protective measures activate; the feeding mechanism then stops automatically and an alarm sounds. Additionally, the connecting rod end surface grinding machine is heat-insulated, effectively eliminating the influence of grinding heat on machine accuracy and greatly enhancing long-term stability and reliability. An independent coolant circulation system provides constant temperature control, equipped with a magnetic drum separator and an inclined belt filter offering filtration accuracy better than 15μm, along with a water level alarm.
